At times, I find it hard to define life—
A vague, shifting thing that slips through grasping fingers.
I sit, motionless, caught in the vast emptiness,
While my mind churns, a cacophony of voices:
Worries gnawing at my edges,
Secrets that linger like ghosts,
Problems stacking upon problems,
Thoughts tumbling in relentless disarray,
Ideas blooming only to wither before they take root.
There are days when everything feels hollow,
A numbness that blankets the senses—
You labor, pour yourself into effort,
Yet the fruits remain elusive,
And no matter how hard you push,
The world offers no reflection of your toil.
A scream rises, trapped in the hollow of your chest,
But you stifle it—
Afraid of being seen as unhinged,
When inside, the mind is a storm,
A fury that demands release.
It’s not the fear of starting over that weighs heavy,
But the crushing realization that nothing improves,
That all your striving—however fierce—is undone
By the quiet brutality of time’s passage.
You’re not just tired—
You’re weary of being weary,
Exhausted by the very act of being,
Caught in a cycle that only spirals further inward.
And yet, here you remain,
Searching for the door that never appears,
Waiting for a rest that will never come.
Poems have a unique way of soothing my mind, almost like a remedy for a headache. When everything feels overwhelming, I find that expressing my thoughts and emotions through poetry is the only release that truly helps. It’s as though I pour my inner turmoil onto the page, letting the words carry away the weight, leaving me with a sense of clarity and calm.

Many people today are silently battling struggles they feel too ashamed or afraid to speak about. These inner conflicts can be overwhelming, and at times, it may seem easier to simply wish for a fresh start—a chance to wipe the slate clean and begin anew. But the truth is, starting over isn’t always possible. What we can control, however, is our ability to better our lives, to face the struggles head-on, and to find ways to heal and grow from them. The path forward isn’t about erasing the past, but about learning from it and building a stronger, more resilient future.
