Style Intentions for the New Month

Resolutions feel heavy, don’t they? They sound like promises we have to keep, and sometimes they just add pressure. But style? Style is about joy, expression, and trying new things. So instead of resolutions, I’m setting style intentions for the new month, little ways to explore fashion, have fun with my wardrobe, and express myself more boldly.

Here are mine (and maybe they’ll inspire you to create yours too):

1. Experiment with Bolder Colors

It’s so easy to stay safe with neutrals, black, white, beige. But this month, I want to add pops of color that speak before I even say a word. Bright orange? A bold green bag? Or maybe Ankara prints in unexpected cuts. Style is energy, and I want mine to shine.

2. Support Local Designers

Instead of always chasing what’s trending online, I want to invest in pieces made by local creatives. There’s something powerful about wearing clothes that carry our culture and identity. Plus, I know that every naira I spend is helping a Nigerian designer keep creating.

3. Find Comfort in Minimalism

Not every day has to be “extra.” Some days, the most stylish thing you can wear is simplicity. A crisp white shirt. Clean, tailored pants. Minimal jewelry. This month, I want to balance boldness with calm, finding beauty in the basics.

4. Rewear with Intention

There’s no shame in repeating outfits. In fact, the real challenge is how creatively you can restyle one piece. I’m setting an intention to remix my wardrobe more layer differently, accessorize smarter, and prove that rewearing is part of true style.

5. Confidence Over Everything

Because at the end of the day, your style intention doesn’t matter if you don’t own it. The real glow is in how you carry yourself. This month, I’m wearing my confidence first, every single day.

✨ Your Turn

Style intentions aren’t about rules, they’re about freedom. They’re little promises to yourself to enjoy fashion more. So tell me, what’s one style intention you’re setting for yourself this month?
